Individual, companies, and exchanges can use whatever unit of account they wish.
In the US, and much of the world, the US dollar is the primary unit of account.
Bitcoin, as you know, is a distinct and better form of money.
While it is difficult to accomplish in the current transition period--with both government fiat currencies and Bitcoin--it is not impossible to price everything in bitcoin (not BTCUSD) terms.
As bitcoin (not BTCUSD) markets and exchanges grow, bitcoin will increasingly be known and used as the world's preeminent UoA.
The businesses that figure this out and implement it will be among the first to benefit from it.
I strongly believe that, in the coming decades, all goods and services and businesses and stocks will be priced solely in bitcoin... not in USD or btcusd.
