Much like how in The Good Place, once they learned the nature of their existence, they were unable to earn any more points, I feel like the same must apply to how people's actions once that 4chan post about returning shopping carts went viral, it is no longer a valid indicator of how well we, as a society, are able to self-govern ourselves.
