Maybe a Spinster can answer this question I've had about "smart houses":
What happens when there's a power outage? Right now we're not having them because there is a referendum on the ballot regarding creating a public utility to buy the two existing foreign-owned utility companies; ergo, they are maintaining the lines and doing the tree trimming necessary to avoid outages.
But they're a normal occurrence. So what happens when the power goes out in someone's "smart home"?
