It's really weird when people react to shame but then don't actually try to avoid it by being honorable or cultivating integrity.

How are you gonna glorify having lambos, staying out late drinking champagne, and being a 30 something without a family without having any shame for acting like a total child?

People get weird when their community gets too big for them to feel like they have any responsibility to being an upright, moral person. The sort of shit people proudly post about at this point is the sort of thing that hara kiri would be performed over by those who adhered to a higher code.

I guess my point is, shame can be used to control, yes. But having no self-control is hardly the goal. Be mindful of what you let trigger shame, and what you probably SHOULD let trigger shame, relative to who you want to be as a person.
