Just a guess but it is possible that the majority of current owners are in it for fiat returns, not for ushering in a new utopian economy. There looks to be a relatively small cohort of holders that want to see BTC become a legit medium of exchange as well store of wealth. That was what I was hoping to focus on with my question. Current estimates have 25% (plus) of BTC already locked up in longer term gvnt and institutional holdings. Just heard a stat listing 25 countries now actively exploring BTC. Just a handful of these along with sovereigns, insurance companies, ETF’s etc would be enough for many to part with their holdings. Thanks for your input. Cheers.
