The radio is telling me campaigners think the safeguards in the new bill aren't strong enough but they are exactly backwards and wrong.
The safeguards are too stringent, and the rule where you have to have less than six months left to live is wrong. The longer you may have to suffer painful torture, the more urgent ending that suffering could be.
I kinda expected they would sort out assisted dying in time for the boomers to use it but this isn't it.
If this bill is law in 40 years or whatever when it's my turn to end my suffering, I will still have to ensure I do it nice and early, before I become incapable and need help to do it. I will still be forced to do it alone and unaided.
