As soon as you buy something the new version is out and you're left wanting the latest and greatest. I'm in the same boat. My work laptop is an M1 but I really need a new personal laptop. M1s are really affordable right now just like M2s will be when the M3 is available. I suppose it all depends on what we're willing to spend. If it's just an incremental upgrade I might get a previous-gen processor to save some money.
