Chema Hernández Gil (npub1gg5…vxnm) I think we focus on store closures but don’t call attention to store openings as much.
I went to the new IKEA and it’s *great*: got everything I needed, and a couple of things I didn’t know I needed 😂, took them home on the train. After shopping, I stopped for dinner at Burma Love in Mint Plaza and it was packed: so much for “no one wants to go out downtown.”
Target and Office Max closed but Total Wine opened on Division. This is a hard transition period but good things are happening too. And
npub14pyc4gdmjhh0fl2ydujhsncryex3h0gaq4q0ar6tkxw35kaa5eqs3x9ws9 (npub14py…9ws9) advocating for and ultimately prevailing on Safeway to remain open for a year was a huge win.
That said: it’s time for bold leadership from the Mayor and the best she seems to have come up with is “force people to go back to the office and give cops more money.”
