Have you considered doing aerated static compost piles if you are not doing this already?
The point of this method is to use pipes to insert air into the piles. What is great about this is that you don't have to turn it on and you can also control the heat because with the air you put into the piles, you can heat the temperatures. The only thing you have to do here is control the moisture.
