Well quite, the latter is what friends and or family do, esp if have more knowledge and can help one through something, the former is just bloody ridiculous and embarrassing and plain outrageous entitlement.

Friend told me same re actually having mothers ring up work about their brats like this too, it's just eye popping. She also, she's retired now, had hassle re them outright lying to her about being sick and then she would meet them outside or pass them in the car. Also meant while they were skiving others could not get time off for something they needed, she often stepped in to do the thing herself, to allow the other person time for medical apps or to go to a wedding or some thing they had been invited to. It's selfish as well as lazy bugger-itis.
