Granted, it’s a slightly weird analogy because I think in the long run, and probably intuitively to most of us, the fedi also makes more sense as an “oceanic” Usenet-like space, that normies could use on ramps to.
But the bottom line is, I think it’s good to have small community spaces with access to everything. And a great deal of “everything” at the moment is over on Bluesky. But Bluesky can’t do the small community spaces.
