Hey, a 2024 media etiquette question for y'all.
When a media org posts a paywall-blocked link, is it rude to reply to their thread with a working link from a site like archive.is?
On the one hand, creators want/need to get paid. On the other hand, posting a busted link is a universally-reviled bait-and-switch marketing tactic: "Here's a link, no, psych! It's not really a link, it's a marketing promotion; if you followed this thinking it was a link, we just wasted your time, neener neener."
