There's a podcaster wallet shim https://podcasterwallet.com/ that a podcaster can use to insert a value block into the Podcast Index if their provider doesn't surface the ability to insert it directly in the feed.
It's suppose to be temporary until more hosts onboard putting the value block in a podcaster's feed. The idea it demonstrate what is possible, and then the host build once they understood the value of it.
I suspect the manual medium curation is the same idea.
