Yeah pretty much. I'm not even an ultra "everything needs to be decentralized / open source / community owned"-person but I wish people understood that every new centralized platform is a trap that you will either gain nothing from *or* be coerced to stay there because you've built a dependency on its "just useful enough to deal with their shit"-status.

At least here I can download a list of my followers and gtfo to a different instance if needed.
