Not really. Kids don’t have IDs. You only get one as an adult if you choose to drive a car. Every transaction you make can be done in cash anonymously. Do I need to show an ID to buy $10,000 worth of products at the Apple Store? No. They take cash.
The US is based on freedom and people with computers are looking to erode it simply because they see tech innovation = using my skills = I don’t have to dig ditches = I’m helping the world become a better place = “value” = notoriety = money = food and house for me. Databases are ran off of unique rows of data so the obsession with IDs and unique values is inherent in all of tech.
