When it comes to selecting a calculus textbook my most petty complaint is that most books are simply to large and bloated. Giving these to schoolchildren is some kind of OSHA violation. In a way because books are often now digital packages the “text” could be distilled from the problem sets, extra examples, sus math history, dated “hello kids” photos etc. can all go online …
The book itself can be a slim little number. It’s not like there is all that much to it! come on!
