Tax status is the reality .. when it will changed , we will know .. if you are trying to change that , you are probably a political activist.. I am not and most people are not ..
As regards to stray examples of people using bitcoin for payments - of course - debanked people will .. but they will not if the are banked again .. I mean , there are many such people who may use gold , or a bushl of corn .. nothing stops people to donwhat they like or what their situation is ..
Bitcoin is NOT currency because it is a network.. a network always leads to store of value - asset ..
Currencies are NOT networks .. that is the reason they can't hold value .. there is no public consensus in how many tokens China is printing this weekend .. or US .. that is what they always lose value .. that is why you want to spend it asap .. not your zaps :-)
