After working with the web platform for 15+ years this is the first time I’m rather happy with it.
CSS may have bloated, but is also the most flexible language for 2D UI and text layout.
JS is still full of footguns, but once you learn to step around them it’s fun. And really fast too, thanks to mega-optimised engines.
WebGL2’s fine, and so’s Web Audio. WebGPU will be nice. WASM too?
HTML is the same as ever.
Finally, tools like Tauri bring all of this outside the browser. Neat.
