Here is how nature teaches: a thousand mice spread out across a forested area, and the ones that instinctively know to stay under cover are eaten less by eagles and foxes.
The next generation is more prone to stay under cover, and thirty generations later, all of the mice do this.
They have learned. Each is a bit in a calculation, and the whole calc reaches the right answer.
