Simple fact, masks fail even when worn with care. COVID is a very small virus that doesn't need a lot of exposure to infect you. Asking people to maintain an effective masking protocol is asking them to do something hard, where even one moment of inattentiveness can have dramatic implications both for yourself and others.
You need to actively manage air quality. Doing so will give a larger margin of error to the humans in your space.
