With social media now sending hardly any traffic to websites, I find myself irrationally hoping that Google does Do The Right Thing and put prominent citation links in their AI Overviews. The news today on that front is encouraging. Of course, ultimately I hope The Fedi Knights will come to the rescue, and that the Fediverse will be where we all swap links and live happily ever after (like the Ewoks at the end of Return of the Jedi).
