Seeing Labour scrap yet another pledge (do they have any left?) makes me wonder if they are deliberately reducing their voter support because, if they won an election, this government’s scorched-earth wrecking-ball policies provide an impossible task to reverse in a term, so they are hoping to cede the poisoned chalice to a lib-dem-green alliance, then sit back and smirk.
Yes, I know that’s a bunch of mixed metaphors!
