Tinkering with
btcpayserver (npub155m…dcvg) to set up a Bitcoin POS for the business I work at.
Incredible software - very easy to use, and powerful! The Bitcoin side of things works great and there has clearly been a lot of dedication to get it to where it is today.
My one complaint is on the actual POS side of things. The business I work at has a huge menu, and we allow customers to do a lot of modifications and add ons. My ability to create the menu on BTCPay server is pretty limited.
I’d love it if there was
- options for item notes
- the ability to choose different sized items (small, medium, large)
- the ability to add/remove specific toppings or ingredients
- the ability to mark items for common allergies (egg, gluten, dairy, etc.)
- the ability to select “extra” toppings, such as double pepperoni or extra cheese
I’d also like if there was an easy way to export POS “apps” to other BTCPay accounts. I’m sure it’s possible, but I haven’t found an option to move a created storefront menu to a different BTCPay instance, which is very inconvenient if you’re setting it up in multiple locations or with multiple segregated nodes.
Some of this I’ll try to figure out how to add myself (open source is awesome) but I admit it’s a bit out of my field. If anyone could direct me to some good resources I’d be very appreciative. If anyone has created software which enables these features, that would also be useful.
I’ll start a bounty for these features at 500,000 sats.
