Your registrar is responsible for DNS, not your host. You can migrate your domain to a more-supportive registrar.

Assuming your host is also your registrar, see what is involved to move your domain. As a security precaution, usually a domain is listed as not migratable, but as *you* own your domain you can change this.

But I do not know/use a Canadian registrar, so cannot advise.
