The 1000 hours and areas of study might be perceived as a bit hubristic, the cryptobros who have already heard and rejected this from Bitcoiners and normies don’t take it seriously.
Perhaps better to focus on the alignment in values growing up around Bitcoin and how that differentiates to Crypto.
Luke Mikic wrote a good piece on this on Xitter:
https://x.com/lukemikic21/status/1784268585675653520In embracing Bitcoin you’re leaning in to a customer base with low time preference, who want to provide and receive real value in kind. Who voluntarily opt in to this system to get out of fiat. The reason they did the 1000 hours is because they’re not here to get rich quick - they’re here to get rich slow and take all the marbles.
There’s a reason so many Bitcoiners have done/continue carnivore. Why they reject seed oils and sunscreen and constant streams of drugs from big pharma. Why they place emphasis on family and teaching children a moral path. On culture and architecture, on history, on philosophy. And why they’re going around the State to build something new that won’t perpetuate the fiat behaviours that crypto exemplifies.
These things will resonate more with outsiders than talking about how you’ve studied energy systems and thermodynamics.
JakeWolki (npub1ulv…uzvk) is someone to connect with - he’s tapped the Aussie Bitcoiners and built a loyal customer base out of them because he gets it.
There is a nebulous identity forming around Bitcoin, it’s not fully fleshed out yet, and part of it will be in delineating what Bitcoiners don’t stand for (ie crypto) but the more important part will be in clearly articulating what we do stand for and why others should want to engage with people like this in business.
Godspeed and congrats on making the call to go in on Bitcoin!
