I tried explaining Fahrenheit to a Euro friend as "It's just the general range of human habitable temperatures on a scale of 0 to 100. So 70 is pretty warm. 30 is cold. Simple." and he said that made no sense.
Metric causes brain damage. I don't live inside water. When it freezes or boils is not useful to me for air temperature. These are all human-used measures that people had for thousands of years. Some of them cross-culturally without knowing it (Japanese shaku).
The French are perverts. They tried to make a metric week too. Their measurements are for creeps.
