Hard disagree, some of the best presentations I have witnessed had their slide decks thrown together in the back of a taxi on the way from the airport to the conference venue. Conversely, some of the worst had been rehearsed over and over beforehand. A good presentation comes from the presenter being on top of their game, both on substance and on presentation skills. A true expert can talk for an hour on their topic when you wake them up in the middle of the night.
