so back when i was a kid, we had to power our internet with a wood burning stove. one log got you about 30 minutes of dialup internet time. this is why it’s called “logging on”.
but we weren’t cavemen, so there was a conveyer belt to continuously feed logs into the burner. so a log on, was on line (on the conveyer belt)
