The Linux world has become overwhelmingly corporate in the past couple decades, and it's unfortunate.
Meanwhile the #BSD community is still super welcoming and gloriously weird.
(But don't get me wrong, I love talking linux, and I primarily run it on all my machines. But the feeling in the BSD community is a bit more "homey," even though they have a lot of corporate interest as well.)
