WarMonitor on Nostr: Another video showing a Russian intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) attack on ...

Another video showing a Russian intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) attack on Dnipro, Ukraine. The missile, an RS-26, is a MIRV, meaning it can carry and launch multiple warheads. In today's attack, there were six. One curious detail is that the warheads launched today appear to be inert, with close-up videos showing no explosions upon impact. This could indicate that the attack was merely a show of force by Russia in response to Ukrainian long-range missile attacks inside Russian territory.

For the first time in history, an ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) has been used in a war. At 5 a.m., Russia launched an ICBM from Astrakhan, whose six warheads struck the Dnipro region of Ukraine. Although ICBMs were originally designed to carry nuclear warheads, this one was armed with conventional warheads.

The attack, clearly a response to Ukrainian offensives with long-range Western missiles against Russian territory, is being interpreted as an operational test to assess Russia’s capability to conduct strikes with ICBMs armed with nuclear warheads.

In this video, it is possible to see the warheads hitting the Dnipro region. There is still no information about the specific target or the damages caused.
