People saying Wells Fargo is a trash bank is like people saying Nickelback is a trash band. Mostly social preference falsification.
They did have some scandals but they aren’t really any better or worse than the other GSIBs when you consider all factors. If anything, you are less likely to get fraudulent accounts created at Wells Fargo than the other banks in 2023, because there is more scrutiny.
