psa: there's been a lot of uneducated sexist transphobic bigotry going on around Trudeau putting tampons in the men's bathrooms.

i can take edgy jokes with the best of them, but there is a line.

some are making pretty hateful humiliating memes directed towards Trudeau and trans-masc people and are acting like it's really about taxes.

it's not about taxes. tampons in the mens room are essential supplies, like soap, toilet paper, and tampons in the ladies room.

there are other areas to cut taxes. so get real. this is about transphobia.

i am blocking the accounts of anyone spreading similar transphobic, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic hate speech bullshit disguised as "jokes"

i fight daily for people to have the right to speak their minds, but it becomes a whole other issue when it turns to hate speech.

fyi: hate speech is defined as “any form of expression through which speakers intend to vilify, humiliate or incite hatred against a group or a class of persons on the basis of race, religion, skin color, sexual identity, gender identity, ethnicity, disability or national origin.”

i condemn hate speech, but i defend the right to say it.

to those who would say they're just memes, just jokes, i say, these kinds of "jokes" taken too far are nothing more than ignorant, or intentional hate transmissions in disguise.
