9 November 1989, the day the Wall fell. 35 years ago, on the night of 9 November, after months of protests, the border between East and West Germany was opened. It was the end of the German Democratic Republic (GDR).
A life changing day for me. I owe my life to the freedom of movement. I can't imagine what it would have been like if they had reversed the mistake of the night of November (it was not an official decision or order).
