I suspect there are things we don't know - like users having different experiences for various reasons (e.g. I use an adblocker; bad CC algo as punishment?) & also, channels may be paying, directly or not, for better treatment (e.g. some brand names are never wrong in CC even when everything else is), there may be regional & browser differences & so on & so forth... Cory Doctorow (npub1fdr…lvhs) calls it "twiddling".
