Multiple times in my life.
When I was 9 and the adults were almost all more intellectually lazy than me.
When I was 12.
When I was 27 and started to suspect people were multiple standard deviations below me in IQ and in curiosity.
When I was 28 and took a bunch of psychological tests and realized I have an IQ of 141 according to a test that took time as a consideration (which we can reasonably infer even skewed it down compared to a full length test that doesn't factor in the time you take, since I'm highly sensitive) and the highest openness score you can get. I calculated that an IQ of 141 means I'm smarter than 99.68% of people.
When I was 30 and realized that intelligence, curiosity, and wisdom are all distinct, and the latter two are the most important, and realized that most people are insanely deficient in these and self-defeating, and that the more intelligent you are, if you are self-defeating, the better you are at defeating yourself/being evil/being willfully ignorant. So I'm also far, far different from most intelligent people.
