Yeah but no TRUE definition of a fallacy would disagree with you, am I right?
Yes, I am willing to set a good example; I will gladly admit that there are some pretty shitty parents out there. Both parties are equally capable of being shitty, so we can't possibly come to a judgement by assuming that one party has the kid's best interest at heart.
You know, there's something I've wondered about recently. Imagine if the safety of a child is at stake. Like, what if a parent beats their kid every time someone calls the kid by unapproved pronouns? Do you think it would be wise to intentionally push that kind of risk onto the kid by using those pronouns? To act in such a passive aggressive, indirect way? In other words, do you see secrecy as a sustainable long term solution?
Personally, I see it as finders keepers. The parents found the kid first, and so if we have to choose between a teacher abusing the child or a parent abusing the child, I think it makes more sense for the abuse to come from the parent. Otherwise the teacher is punishing the very trust they are relying on every time the parent drops their kid off. Even IF the teacher managed to make a positive difference, all the credit would belong to the parent for simply not being skilled enough at being bad! The teacher wouldn't even be able to take responsibility!
If the kid wants to take hormone blockers in order to stay cute and fuckable forever (based 👍) then I believe that it should be on the kid to take more responsibility for themselves. The kid should prove their parents could never have stopped them, even if the parents never let their kid go to that school. I think that's the only honest way of judging this kind of scenario.
