The U.S. court ordered Kraken to provide user information to the IRS in order to investigate possible unreported taxes by Kraken users. Kraken will disclose the information of users who made transactions over $20,000 between 2016 and 2020.
This includes personal data such as names, dates of birth, tax ID numbers, addresses, contact information, blockchain addresses, transaction hashes and other relevant data. However, the court denied the IRS's request for employment and source of wealth data.
