"content": "#OTD in 79 A.D. Eruption of Mount Vesivius.\n\nFor more than five centuries, until approximately 2018, articles about the eruption of Vesuvius typically stated that the eruption began on August 24, 79 AD. This date came from a 1508 printed copy of a letter addressed by Pliny the Younger to the Roman historian Tacitus, originally written some 25 years after the event. Pliny was a witness to the eruption and provided the only known eyewitness account.\n\nhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eruption_of_Mount_Vesuvius_in_79_AD\n\n#eruption #volcan\nhttps://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/113/016/188/479/490/882/original/192c691b7051e929.jpg\n",
