I discovered today that this checkbox exists and it's amazing because it makes using a Mac about 30% less insuffrable.
Pretty sure this was the default setting ten years ago and they changed it for some reason to the current, unfathomable default.
In short, this makes Mission Control show app names and icons by default instead of inviting you to squint at a dozen tiny, white rectangles to work out which you want. You know. Like Windows and Gnome do.
