I was just quoting the Westminster Confession which I assumed you subscribe to.

I really do like the example sentence of the 2nd definition of "comprehend"

"Philosophy's scope comprehends the truth of everything man may understand."

One might also say that "Theology's scope comprehends the truth of everything God has revealed in the Holy Scriptures."

And you might say yes , but that God's attributes are incomprehensible? Or analogical?
But if that is true, then God has not revealed anything comprehensible about himself in the Scriptures. The study of God (Theology) would seem rather futile. And faith? What is it that we believe? Do we not believe in Christ? Christ said he is the Truth and he certainly meant this in a most divine sense. Do we not therefore believe in the Divine Truth? Is not the Divine Truth (Christ) revealed to us by the Holy Spirit through the Word? Are we not one with Christ and therefore one with the Divine Truth? Christ is the Life...and Life is the mind controlled by the Spirit. But apparently all of these attributes being directed by the Spirit in our souls are incomprehensible. I don't believe that Christ or the Holy Spirit are so limited that they cannot communicate Divine Truth to man comprehensibly through the Word of God. I have never met someone who actually advocates Van Til's epistemology. It has been an interesting encounter.

But Luther's staunch rejection of both Aristotelianism and Thomism was justified.
