Talk about an old thinking. But we've been here before. Does anyone remember "No taxation without representation" argument? Fast forward, Britain didn't tax the States anymore. We'll get there. Bitcoin is not a property owned by the government, and just like any country cannot tax you on a foreign property (given healthy laws), it's illegal to tax you on a property they do not own. They can try if you exit to their fiat, but ultimately, Bitcoin is reshaping economics at a deeper level.
