So, Tidal had stopped doing the thing that pulled me to the Hifi plus plan when I first signed up: they used to give an extra payout to whatever artist you listened to most for the month on the plus plan. They sunset that program some time last year, I think? Since I do most of my listening on my Linux laptop, or when I'm on mobile data, I couldn't possibly be taking advantage of their highest sound quality most of the time I was listening, even when they actually had the things I wanted to listen to added to their library at the highest quality. Momentum just kept me on that plan.
Well, thanks to Fedi, I finally found npub15gsve0aw5a3jsns3cfeffv5s22r9gczrw8hf0pc9z949ewhyf5lqg29ep4 (npub15gs…9ep4) last month, and I've been living in Groove Salad and Drone Zone, with detours into Thistle Radio and Suburbs of Goa pretty often.
So I decided to bump my Tidal plan down to their regular Hifi, and put the difference towards SomaFM. Kinda want a shirt too, but not enough of them come on ladies cuts (and especially not the purple glow in the dark one that I'd really like) and that's fine. I don't really need another shirt anyway.
