9. Do you use a dedicated proofreader, or is one provided by your publisher?
I have a friend who was my beta reader back in my fanfic days. If I get that far and can interest her in my WIP, I'd ask her to beta read. I'd also ask the community here or at other places. I can't pay but I can offer plot and 'does it work' beta reading or bouncing ideas in return.
If I don't find anyone, I'll ask chatgtp. That will take care of the worst grammar and punctuation booboos.
