I understand your point of view and I also agree that much of the problem can be traced directly back to "marketing".

Personally, I spend most of my "web time" on mastodon, gemini or researching specific things. I use the enshittified web less and less. Of course, from time to time it is necessary, but besides protonmail, I think I am doing ok.
