What a challenging trail run on my first day off.
Travelled by train to my starting point in Nesslau. There it goes up steep and it was extremely muddy. With huge water filled holes in the meadows caused by the cows. Quite challenging not to become completely soaked within the first three kilometres. The trail continues to Speer but I turned right to Rossalp below the Chli Speer (little Speer). There the trail goes a little bit up and down. Again very muddy, slippery rocks and further down wet roots and leaves. The last three kilometres back down into the valley were a little bit annoying because I needed to open and close the electric fences for the cows every hundred metres. And just before reaching Ebnat-Kappel a rain shower got me.
A sandwich and a big coffee later I relax in the train on my way back home. Good thing I carried a rain skin as well as a spare shirt.
