If anything I feel like WW2 and the fight against fascism gave a new life to the concept of an ennobling war that I wish would stop.
I always think of Howard Zinn pointing out the crimes of the allies, the fact that fascist Spain stayed out of the war, and then pointing out this is the *best* war we've had, the *most* justified.
It was necessary, but still an evil.
