As far as I know, being "Called to the bar", in The UK, at least, is being awarded "Your Silks"; as in being a QC, s, pretty much all my life, I've known them. It is now, of course a KC. Queens councillor/King's Councillor. They serve the Inns of Court. I'm quite a unique character, John. I don't know you and you, me, but I've been on both sides🙏🏻.
