I sometimes wonder if economists are intentionally or unintentionally completely clueless. No one seems to be discussing or analyzing the fact that the resumption of student loan payments in the US will result in an unpredictable and fairly intensive negative hit to the economy. Depending on the scale of the hit, this may impact the world economy at large (because things are interconnected).
Pausing student loans was an effective economic stimulus. It's ending soon. This will have side effects.
