Ryu (npub1ftj…pjju) I'm still leaning into a second theory that they wanted to expand Unity's telemetry and make it more invasive, and intentionally leaned into this stupid revenue plan to start a garbage fire so big it would overshadow the telemetry itself.
Then when they "apologize" and roll back the payment plan, the telemetry that would have enabled it stays in and everybody's too busy high-fiving each other to pay attention or care.
But I may be overthinking this.
