Bitcoin seems to have lost much of it's original cypherpunk vision of an actual global private fungible currency, and turned out to be a store of value for computer nerds and now Wallstreet etc.
Innovation is happening, but since the founder bounced, no one will dare make significant changes to the protocol like making it a private blockchain.
So now devs jump through hoops to make L2 solutions that work within a nearly 20 year old powerful groundbreaking technology that is definitely not fungible, private, or anonymous by default.
Bitcoin might have been the one to break through the door, but it is not what it set out to be, it is more than showing its age, and only truly private for those who take great care to ensure their anonymity.
